Cell providers such as Telekom, Verizon, Yettel etc. have to provide Lawful Interception support for countries' law enforcement agencies, and these are implemented in a way, that not even the cell providers is aware when a said subscriber / user is being listened on.

Otherwise I would guess a cell provider can't operate in that country if it isn't willing to provide this support?

Hmm fair enough, maybe the more special features are the main reason it is so pricey, like the physical modem switches? Just a guess.

Ngl I wouldn't have needed a /s if we were in the early 2010s, but nowadays I'm not sure if someone is joking or actually serious.

While I agree with that, they don't have the luxury of scale of mass production, so it's not possible for them (yet hopefully)

One downside is that compared to other solutions this is a really heavy battery afaik, but honestly having no fire hazards and way better lifespan totally worths this tradeoff

Honestly that's a valid assumption, but I still have some faint of naivity that they won't whilst the code is closed source and the devs don't plan to include donation pages

I think he means that Ubisoft might try to sue the project

Well a surprisingly lot of people. Just a guess but maybe this is the main or only hobby for a significant amount of buyers?
