I do hate holidays as a working stiff:
They exist only as a foil to working days- once working days are eliminated, so too will holidays be.
Would it be unfair to say the horses that were there are a different species than those imported by the Spanish?

In America at least slaves often raised their own masters. It was an entire category of enslaved people: house slaves.
