The album this track is on is amazing as a whole. It's like a musical journey around the world. It's a beautifully cohesive album start to finish.

Don't know about you, but preteen me wouldn't be very impressed by an adult saying something as vague as "it can be dangerous". We understand the danger and even then fall victim to it in some way or other, how can we expect a child to navigate that landscape of insecurities and marketing in any healthy way.

The answer is we can't and we're all suckers for letting predatory marketing techniques such as influencers and highly targeted ads run rampant in our daily lives.

Thanks for the link. I had it in mind that it was all over for vanced and revanced. Glad to hear it's alive and well and even has its lemmy community!

I just don't watch YouTube on my phone since losing YouTube vanced. What I liked about vanced was that I could be logged in. Do you have any personal recommendations for an alternative where I can still log in?

You're quite right and your post is absolutely not giving off any level of "the world revolves around me" energy so don't take that comment to heart my friend. I agree with the other comments telling you that there's different kinds of weird. If you proudly identify as "weird" then I'd probably argue that your version of "weird" could probably be described as "non-conforming", "alternative" or "unorthodox". The version of "weird" that is used to attack someone like Trump or his cronies is meant as "creepy" or "unhinged". Basically it's meant to take the wind out of the sails of a bunch of elitists trying to pass themselves off as some kind of man of the people by calling attention to the fact that they are not the strong average Joe they try to present themselves as. No need to feel like you might be mistaken for one, that shoe doesn't fit you and you can probably trust that everyone can see that.

All they're saying is that water treatment costs money. Not that you should buy nestle stolen and bottled water...

Off the top of my head: right click the task and hit end process. That has literally never failed me. Back in windows XP it might sometimes not actually kill the process but then there was always the "kill process tree" button to fall back on.

So, nobody got paid to make that.

I work in microbiology and only recently learned it's actually a fungus.

Disclaimer: I'm sure I've learned about it in the parasitology classes I've had but that was 15 years ago and since then I've been in bacteriology and sequencing.

It's international but every nation would obviously use their own flag. It's a practice that dates back to the times before the USA was even a nation.

You’re the only other one than OP piping up.

Don't forget all the people that were already too tired from this conversation before even participating in it to pipe up and decided to just click on the down arrow instead. Here I am piping up, though. You should change your ways if you genuinely want to "have a discussion". You're very right that you don't have to do that for anybody here, though! We don't give a fuck if you ever do find that discussion you're after. But if that is something you might like in the future you might want to examine the way you go about that. But I get it, it's hard not to stay defensive once you've dug yourself in already.

I was thinking the same, it's not aiming at any gender as far as I can tell. I took it as a wink at the "men always want sex, no exceptions" stereotype/gender norm. But, I'm a man and all that proves is that the slogan is vague enough that each reader will have their own personal interpretation of it's exact meaning based on their own experience.

In that sense it is indeed a terrible slogan if only for the fact that it seems to elicit a negative, but highly personalised, meaning for everyone. The exact opposite of what you hope to achieve with a slogan.
