Regarding point 1, as long as your not sleeping with your head under a window, it's fine.

You can put something between the bed and door, but it has to be solid and cannot be moved around. Or, you can put an indoor curtain up and try to essentially split your bedroom in two, only opening the side that's not directly in front of the bed.

There are lots of factors other than cardinal directions. Generally it is bad if the head end of your bed is: Up against a wall that seperates your bedroom from your bathroom; Facing the door; Is below a window. It is also best if your bed is against a wall or something solid on at least one side. There are many more, but these are simple things that you can change to improve your bed placement.
