You know, the longer we live, the more people realize that in a CAPITAL based society, the people with the CAPITAL make the rules. And if they decided "no, we DON'T have to pay the fines that poors have to" then... That's basically become all that happens.

"hey you did an illegal and/or a fine-able offence(the fines for which were determined at a time that doesn't reflect modern profits for companies) but since we are being told you're have lots of money, go ahead and keep doing it but pinky promise you'll change eventually"

Just enough of a protest to make the unimportant people think you've done something, but not enough to do anything of substance.

And I honestly wonder just how long it will be before "the poors" and "the unimportant people" will have enough and decide to punish companies and their leaders themselves.

Because when you already make 10,000x more than the lowest paid workers, you really need that extra income.

I mean honestly, 175 MILLION is not enough, if I don't have at least 15 BILLION am I even a real CEO

And any talk of raising wages is unconstitutional, and communist.

As a person who is more than 6 months old, I have enough cognitive function to realize if someone asks me to specifically stop looking so hard into something, I should double the efforts to look because there's a reason they don't want me looking into it.

Seeing the person who asked get backed by police not 24hrs beforehand would make me quadruple it and request additional personnel to find whatever it is they're scared of me finding.

My parents have worked in a hospital in varying capacities from janitorial to administrative, to being the money people keeping the books balanced.

In the words of my mother, "the hospital owners will outright tell you 'we don't make mistakes so figure out how it's the patients fault'"

She works trying to get insurance to cover things now and finally agrees with me that the while insurance system is a scam designed to fleece people out of money they already spent on Healthcare through taxes (because you pay more now in taxes for Healthcare than you would if the whole country moved to universal Healthcare, how's that for "fiscal responsibility")

I know plenty of parents that would turn it into a criminal investigation that the ~~molester~~ "case worker" wouldn't be around for.

And rightly so. That goes way beyond "normal" or "acceptable"

Some people make it obvious they never built model ships (possibly in bottles) when they were young.

Well to be fair, he does look a little goofy.

... Don't tell him I said that.

It looks like a real life version of a chibi version of the anime version of the enterprise D.

And I'm not sure how I feel that that's my first thought...

I fucking love all the kitbash ships and shuffled part ships.

Especially the ugly kitbashes.

I always thought the nebula class was neat. The mission pod is cool. Being able to swap out for combat or sensors or whatever else you need by heading to a space dock, pressing a few buttons and waiting for the worker bees to swap them out in half an hour or less (or your dilithium back)

My Xbox friend list has a slowly growing number of gamer tags that will never be online again

Climate change will be reversed and billionaires will be abolished before I delete my grandparents contacts from my phone. Every time I pass my grandpa's, I hear Hello young man, it's your grandfather. like he said every time we talked on the phone regardless of who called who.

I can understand those who don't feel the same way.

Keep it if you want, don't keep it if you don't.

But never forget the people.
