Hill was 28 that last season in Detroit before the foot issues. That's right around when an NBA player should peak. Fair to say his prime was shortened, but the trajectory on the way there wasn't particularly out of the ordinary.

McGrady's a good one. He was productive for most of his 20s but peak TMac was early 00's in ORL when he was averaging 30 and in the best player in the league discussion, and he was only like 24. Ideally he would've only improved from there.

Larry Johnson. Yes I know back injury but if we're including Derrick Rose then he's fair game too.

We have to consider Jabari Parker a bust, right?

I think we can put Jay Williams on the list too. I'm mostly not counting injury situations, but Williams was looking like a bust that first year beforehand. The injury kinda let him off the hook.

And while I wouldn't call Chris Washburn "sneaky", it does feel like he gets forgotten about more often as the NBA fan base gets younger and further removed from the 80's.
