My first thought was Make sure Spiderman is busy elsewhere before you try to harness the power of the sun in the palm of your hand.
Adding other reasons I didnt see mentioned. The macho douche energy. For some reason ppl see that as a good thing.
Getting rid of immigrants. Man ppl really hate immigrants in a country famously made by immigrants.

Basically how I felt. Im critical only because I love franchise and went in with really high bar based on imdb ratings and same director as Prey. Im really happy to see the universe lore expanding end of day.
I thought i mastered my job 5 years in. Then I learned there is no mastering it only surviving it. Every day is chaos! I just didn't know cause senior staff took care of it before.

Yeah they break it down In literature class all the story tropes. Even James Cameron avatar is very much retelling of other stories. I liked badlands but I didnt leave theaters high fiving everyone like I did Prey. I would point out specific issues I had but im keeping vague to avoid spoilers. But I will say for everything I would harp on they did more things I liked about the movie.
Personally i think some executive forced the bad choices. Cause it felt like Disney influences at the end of the movie.
Oh probably cause they accept them for who they are. Like convince someone down on their luck or has a flaw its not their fault they are normal but someone else fault and you get them on your side. I see with with father, my FIL and brother.
My father could not be any better than he was because he was barely smarter than a Labrador. He did nothing to improve/save himself and demanded forgiveness for his faults. So he went ring wing cause they blamed someone he wasn't for being stuck in world.
FiL is make it big man. 10 failed businesses and 4 marriages later, its not him its God testing his faith like Job in bible. Also right wing.
My brother insanely intelligent like lex luthor. learns things I struggled undertsand with ease. But lacks persistence and motivation when hitting a road block. So he fails at everything. Also right wing with all of his other failed to launch friends.
Its a tragedy that humans unable see a way out are pulled down by other crabs in a bucket and become stuck in a cycle.
