Oh this is easy to prove. See life is disapointing. If it were all made up by my brain I'd have all the sex and never be rejected and the bank account would have a lot more zeros in it printed in black.

Also I have no impuse control, theres not a reality where my brain would invent pizza and not let me eat it 24/7.

All our coffee is served with two shots by default. We're not some fancy coffee shop, just a motorway service station that makes coffee to go. We have some regulars who order a decaff with an extra shot. I explain thats going to have three shots total, and they're happy with it.

But I keep thinking, if you have three shots of decaff, isn't that going to be as strong as a normal coffee? Whats the point?

Please forgive my ignorance

I have a man cold and taking my usual bowl of chicken soup washed down with a Lemsip Max but now I'm thinking... if the main ingrediant of a Lemsip is paracetamol, why don't I just have a paracetamol? It'd cost alot less.

Whats the point of a Lemsip other than the paracetamol?

Thank you.

Now that you've read this, you now have a cold sorry thats just how this one works.

I can't live, if living is without you - I absolutely hate this song. One of the worst sentiments ever.

Thank you for your comment it was thought provoking.

I definitly agree with "The film also showed that Oppenheimer himself was naive, thinking that "better I do this than evil men" assumes you can control what you build after you build it. The politics was the battle for control of the bomb, and the realisation that he lost that control as soon as it was complete."

But as for how I personally view the event... I went to see a movie and in how I personally view a movie it failed to justify its length and its non-linear presentation.

If I consider the event, I view it as a fixed point in time, something done that cannot be undone and arguing for or against it is tangential. There are lessons to be learned, like what you have pointed out that I agree make a compelling case study. But if that was the takeaway from Oppenheimer, then you just did a better job of telling it than the movie. Short, succinct, to the point.

I did not need Florence Pugh to be riding his dick at a commitee hearing to get that the hearings were uncomfortable, y'know?

I... didn't enjoy this one. Two white dudes fussing over their reputation across three hours of meetings. In a non-linear style.

The biggest issue I have with it is myself. I wanted a story about problem solving, in this case building, testing and deploying the first nuclear weapon before the nazis and I didn't get it.

I know I should review a film for what it is trying to be and not what I want it to be but I just couldn't with Oppenheimer. It felt like it was trying too hard to subvert expectations and keep me engaged with a lame duck parlor trick, and it could have been so much better.

No issues with the acting, cinematography though.

Hi! I've never played DnD before but I've been invited to a game and I'm looking for some advice for my guy.

I envisioned that in a world with bards, there had to be critics too, right? So this character had a weekly column in some newsletters published from town to town (is that a thing?) and developed a reputation for being a snob. He barely ever hands out a score higher than 6 out of 10.

After unfairly giving a negative review some bards had enough of this and they want to kill him! So our music critic is now on the run from angry bards when he runs into our group of adventurers.

He has no experiance in ever fighting anyone or anything. His parents were bards and he would have been one too but he can't sing or play any instrument (I haven't decided if thats because he's hopelessly bad at it or maybe he's been cursed?) His only real talent seems to be intuitive analysis and articulate critique - skills that have helped him at what he does, until now.

I need help understanding what stats and what class / subclass I should be, or if this is all a terrible idea...

THANK YOU!

He's interviewing Mr. Pipes now

....with the James Web Telescope looking for sources of artificial light to identify potential intelligent life, and the news this week of Perseverance searching for microbial life on Mars it feels like we are getting closer to a major discovery. But what - if anything - would it mean for the religions on Earth if life is proven to exist out there?
