OP misquoted the article. It's 819m hours, not 819b. A rough estimate of the average number of internet users was 3.6b over that period rather than 8b, hence the ~450x discrepancy.

819m / 3.6b / 13 / 365 * 3600 = .1726 (rounded to .175 for a cleaner number)

It's over a 13 year period:

The researchers took the average completion time of 3.53 seconds across both image and behavior CAPTCHAs and multiplied that against a low-end estimate of 512 billion v1 and v2 reCAPTCHAs completed across the internet between 2010 and 2023, resulting in the following estimations of their impact on our lives:

It ends up being like, .175 seconds per day for the average internet user after some rough estimates

As a combination cart pusher and cleaner for a supermarket, absolutely fuck anyone that doesn't return their cart or worse, throws it into a gardenbed

From the sounds of it, your account would be on the "original" Runescape 3, rather than the Old-school Runescape this post is about.

Old-school Runescape is essentially a fork of a random backup they found of the game as it existed in 2007 that they released in 2013 after a lot of dissatisfaction about how Runescape had changed over that timespan.

None of the accounts/characters from the original game were migrated.

Same situation, started at 17 and besides a bit of melancholy right after I first buzzed it all off I* haven't looked back either.

Shit's just so convenient.

Regarding #9's alternative, "Not counting Canberra, what city was the most recently founded state capital of Australia?" is a bit of a bad question in and of itself, given that Canberra isn't a state capital, since the ACT isn't a state but rather a territory of Australia (alongside the Northern Territory).

I think, as individuals; we all need to pick up our game and do our part in polluting and destroying the planet more. We can't let the corporations do all the heavy lifting after all.

Edit: I don't think I came across properly here, given the replies. This was sarcasm saying we need to fuck up the planet more to keep pace with the rate the corporations do.
