Some "fancy" ones do taste different, but the basic ones do share a clearly distinguishable common taste.

Yes, and the taste of what's in most energy drinks is what's being sought for here.

I'm a big fan of Shattered Pixel Dungeon!

It's the second most controlled country in the world, right after North Korea.

A mad place!

Also, almost all places on trains are reserved for party members, meaning that to get to another city you neither need to bribe somebody or book your ticket a month in advance.

I almost completely agree with PM_ME_etc. Even to the part that yes, you are afraid of China and Chinese cultures in ways that are not necessary.

At the same time, it is China's goal to turn the west towards authoritarianism. Many parts of MAGA's political goals are coaligned with those of China, even if their goals regarding economy politics are extremely different.

Currently an increasing share of the western consumption is fed by factories in China. We're currently practically completely able to produce mobile phones without China, because even if the phone is made in Mexico or South Korea, it is still made of Chinese components, such as the tiny torx screws not made in scale in a reasonable quality anywhere else than China.
Eventually China will shut down that trade. It will hurt China, but if as a consequence China can get us under its command, they will gain more than they lose.

Currently it would be extremely crucial to support industrial production practically anywhere outside China, some clear cases, such as NK, of course excluded. An amount of sinophobia is very necessary to make this happen!

This shows very well to what extent China is communist.

  • nationalizing industries: yes
  • making industries worker-controlled
  • private property partially abolished
  • workers' rights even less supported than in USA
  • capitalist class being steadily empowered (they are getting increasingly rich and disconnected from the workers, even if their companies do have to follow the state lead than in more civilized countries)
  • wealth is being moved to the wealthy (albeit not nearly as fast as in USA)

Of course this only tells whether China is.following its own official ideology, not whether what someone else does fulfills that ideology or not.

the people who hold the other keys are the ones most likely to lead a coup against putin.

They are also ones that will absolutely, unavoidably, get informed if Putin wants to launch nuclear weapons. It's unlikely they will agree, so if Putin ever is to ask them to use their "keys", he will show himself as an utmost danger to their lives, and they will therefore organize Putin to die within the next 15 minutes or so. And if he manages to hide in a bunker, he will be completely isolated there and will de facto no longer be the POTRF.
Someone else will then take over.

I was a bit lost on what you are referring to... Is it these three lines as one of the mentioned historical echoes that aren't mentioned in the rest of the article?

Historical Echoes

(...)

Nixon’s Saturday Night Massacre (1973):
A president gutted DOJ to protect himself. Substitute “DoD” for “DOJ,” and the rhyme is chilling.

(...)

If something else, it would be interesting knowing what.

Some people do.

Here's a good article on what this might well be about: https://www.jackhopkinsnow.com/p/how-to-read-hegseths-mass-recall

/usr/games/sol

(Plus on my phone Feudal Tactics and Shattered Pixel Dungeon)

So, PieFed's way of retrieving a post that you're viewing on a "wrong" instance is quite slow for the user. You press the icon with the magnifying glass, scroll to the bottom of the page, read texts on both of the buttons, choose the correct one (Retrieve post), then wait for the page to load – which is suprisingly slow, then paste the URL in the field and press enter, and then wait for the next page to load and still have to press a link.

What I'm envisioning is that if I'm viewing a page such as https://sopuli.xyz/post/32069389 , I could just write "Piefed" in front of the URL, making my browser load the "Retrieve remote post" page with the relevant field prefilled with the URL after that word. So, if the URL says "Piefed https://sopuli.xyz/post/32069389", I then get to the page with a link to https://piefed.ee/post/85356 , enabling me to click that link and get to comment on the post.

This would streamline browsing threadiverse a LOT, because it keeps happening that I find links that throw me to "wrong" instances. Sometimes they are in threadiverse comments, sometimes* they are out there in the big internet. It's an annoying chore having to click a button and wait and click a button and wait and then click a link and wait again. Anything that streamlines this experience would be very welcome!

So, is there a way to make this happen on Firefox? (Also, could we please get the field for writing the URL to fetch right on the Piefed UI? Such as, click "Communities ▾", then throw the link into a field on the bottom of the thing that opens that way (and maybe get to the requested page immediately without having to click an extra link first?)

*) Still very rarely, but it has already happened!
