Dark Souls and souls games in general. But the difficulty is just half of it. I have beaten hard games before. The problem is that everything is so bleak I can't even feel motivated to try. I'll do a thing only for some NPC to go "it doesn't matter, everything is pointless and you're so insignificant". Inevitably being spoiled I know that even the single optimistic NPC is not getting it great. Y'all can mope, I'm gonna put my effort where it's appreciated.

Live Services, much like their older cousin MMO, are not something people can play multiple of. Each of them takes so much time/money investment that most people who do play them just pick one and stick with it. Making too many of them is a mistake.

GameFAQs tends to be a good place to get printable guides for older games. Most of the older ones are simple text files.

I never get this type of response. Do you really keep paying attention at whoever ass it is rather than the whole game happening on the rest of the screen?

Yes, I know. My point is that as new needs for self-regulation have come up, they are playing coy. Because as industry representatives it's more profitable to pretend they don't realize there is a new risk, that justifies ratings and warnings for children and their parents. If they will not catch up until the threat of government regulation comes up, they are not doing their job properly.

Ironically they are more harsh at fictional depictions of gambling than at lootboxes with real money, so they always knew there were some risks of this kind.

...it is now commonplace to find elements that are considered psychologically equivalent to gambling with real money in games rated E for everyone, therefore recommended for children of all ages.

ESRB may be plenty harsh on violence and sexual content, but it is completely neglecting their job where rating conditioning monetization elements accurately might earn the industry less money.

Google's quality has been declining for years. I don't expect for it to remain unchallenged for long.

Fortnite shows that there are people interested in living in a game enviroment where they are surrounded by recognizable brands. But Meta's infomercial vibe with bland, low budget, dead-eyed characters, which are so sanitized they didn't even have lower bodies, is not anything close to anything that anyone wants.

Magic: The Gathering and Dice Throne get regular updates. These are tabletop games. Are they live services? Of course not.

Well... MTG is as close as a live service game can be as a physical object, including questionable monetization practices. The booster pack is very similar in principle to the lootbox. They also can ensure continuous sales through power creep and controlling what cards are allowed in official competitive formats. It's not the absolute control that digital live services allow, but it's nearly there. As a more practical comparison, MTG is more manipulative than card games that allow players to pick full sets that they want.

Then we have MTG Arena that is a Live Service in every aspect. They don't let you freely host those games either.

For political aims, possibly. What is sure is that Twitter would never be able to repay the amount of debt the company got saddled with. It was barely making ends meet and now it has to pay an additional billion dollars a year in interest. Why would someone would put their money in such a bad deal?

Literally taking apart a data center with a pocket knife himself really made him look like a junkie with too much money.
