I'm not from the US and while, thanks to the internet, I probably know more about Trump's scandals and crimes than is necessary or reasonable for anyone only indirectly affected by his actions, I'm sure I've only scratched the surface. Especially since, as you said, you really have to put in an effort to keep track of all of them.

So I'm just observing from afar and constantly amazed by every new detail I stumble upon.

Trump initially avoided any comment about the Bonwit Teller artwork. But John Baron, a spokesperson with the Trump Organization, contacted the New York Daily News to discuss the situation. Baron informed the Daily News that “the merit of the stones was not great enough to justify the effort to save them.” Baron stated that the removal process could have set back Trump Tower’s construction timeline by two weeks. Baron also told the New York Times that he had no idea what happened to the ornate grillwork.
Long after Baron’s initial contact, the New York Daily News learned that John Baron was actually Donald Trump, in disguise.

WTF?

Many instances are mixed language. Feddit.org for example is mainly German communities for now but is officially a German/English instance and one of the largest communities is c/Europe, which is in English. Blocking whole instances will block many English communities as well. Though I get that that might be an acceptable trade-off to get rid of a flood of posts you don't understand.

It's a shame the language selection doesn't work on many apps.

I don't really understand your description and I'm guessing that's the reason for the downvotes. What do you mean by (half) cylinder? Maybe you could try adding a sketch of what you mean?

A is also the way the inventor of the term spelled it, the way it is often spelled in science and the correct Latin form.

I'm not saying O is wrong, that's what happens in language, just adding the other points.

In my opinion the reason it's supposedly insulting is rooted in misogyny. A woman is the property of her male relatives. When someone sleeps with her without the permission of these relatives, he uses their property without permission, demonstrating his power over them.

I do realise that many people use this insult because it's just something you say. But I think it's worth reflecting about what it actually is you are saying.
