That is what I am referring to. And the broader attention it has brought to the topic of misogyny in general, even when bears aren't really the topic of discussion. From pull request discussions to discussions about misogyny vs misandry, it seems like a lot more popular topic lately.

Overall since November, its been trending upwards. Given the big spike in March, I think its only natural some people realize they didn't want to be here in the couple months that follow.
Also there's bit of a controversial topic lately that has made a certain demographic feel like this place is about as unwelcoming to them as much of the internet.
Not funny! 100's of thousands of people are currently in the dark because a thunderstorm came through 4 days ago!. JK. Maybe if enough people make fun of the joke of an electrical grid Texas has, it'll be improved.
I'm in Texas, not that far from the coast, and I make these kinds of jokes. I don't move because this is where my immediate family live and I don't want to leave without them. Texans are a great group to make the butt of the jokes. Doesn't mean I think I should be drowned or assume I'm a red-hat maga person.
Maybe if they UK provided prescriptions to people in a timely manner, people wouldn't resort to other means of getting their medical treatment.
Used to have a credit limit that was like double my annual income. Surely they knew there was no way I could afford even the interest alone if I came anywhere close to maxing out cards...
Aren't you the one implying they do? If April comes before May and April is the start of Summer, then May should also be Summer.
Honestly, I think I just avoid looking at people in general. I think it took a while for me to realize I was even doing something unusual. I think I noticed when people seemed to think I should know things like "what color shirt someone was wearing". Like, why would I know? Not sure that was an autistic thing though or more of a "I don't want people observing me, so I don't do that to others" kind of thing.
How do you interpret other people’s eye contact?
If I noticed someone is making unusual amounts of eye contract, I probably laughed at them. Just seems ridiculous and they most be trying to do it as a joke.

Gerrymandering can't help with Governor, Senator, or presidential elections, so voter suppression is is also needed and used!
Surprisingly, over 50% of energy production right now (like this minute, not a long-term average) in Texas is Solar+Wind. Nuclear is another 6%. Still means we should at least double solar+wind production, but I think storage is something that's quite lacking currently, so as the sun set, fossil fuel use spikes up (wind is still like 40% of the power at night though).
I think I had someone ask why I was necroing something because I had responded to something that had been posted earlier that or the night before. Maybe it was older than 24 hours, but regardless it was a weird experience.
Otoh, if one server is having issues, it's pretty trivial to swap to another. Whereas if reddit is down, it's down. No getting around that. If Lemmy.today is down, I can just swap to another server without issue (except being treated as a sus person just because my account says it's new).
