I don't agree. i get around the same battery as the r7 ones. The 6 core amd chip has fewer cores idling, so it uses less power.

Get around 8-10 hours with the AMD ryzen 5, 32GB ram and 55Wh battery coding with two node js servers running and a lot of chrome tabs open.

Get about 8 hours (55wh battery) on high screen brightness with a sn770 1tb and windows 11 in power saving mode.

It's a really efficient laptop my use case right now: external monitor 1440p 165hz via displayport, 20 chrome tabs one Ubuntu vm, word, teams, Spotify, discord, file explorer and HW monitor calculates a total battery loss of around 12 watts

Sad to report: the youtube issue is not fixed.

[–] Winnie-Putin@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Doubt the changes on your order will delay it. I got mine also two weeks after preparation mail. It's just bad luck.

Thanks for your reply, I installed the drivers directly from AMD site, and it looks like it fixed the issue, obs doesn't crash anymore.

I recently got my new amd framework: ryzen 5 with 32GB of 5600Mhz cl40 ram running the latest version of windows 11 (with the Framework drivers and latest bios). First problem: youtube video keeps loading on different browsers while I clearly can scrub trough and network wasn't a problem either (had this issue twice so far) reboot and it works fine. Second weird issue, I tried streaming with obs and obs can only stream with software encoding all hardware encoding crashes obs. (Those are the only problems I've had so far with my framework) To me this sounds like a gpu driver issue

That's a bad deal it's 108€ (118$) with Vat here in Europe

Same here it took two weeks before payment and shipping.

46 should work perfectly fine, Frameworks memory is 46, too, if I'm not mistaken.

Same here in Belgium they tried to deliver twice, probably on the wrong address, because i was home both times. Then they called me for one second. When i tried calling back, I got an bot constantly telling me to repeat my sentences. Eventually, I got in contact with them through customer service, but their translation skill aren't that great. I asked them to deliver between 13:30 and 20:00 they replied with morning or noon...

This morning, they said they would deliver the laptop by 12 it's now almost 16 a clock...

I wouldn't put that in my Framework given the high power draw.

I ordered my framework back early august with a Ryzen 5. But because I will be running multiple VMs and large codebases i asked Framework to change my CPU to the more powerful Ryzen 7, unfortunately that's not possible. If you want to change from model they require you to cancel and reorder.

I'm not reordering to get the more powerful Ryzen 7, but I will add the larger battery if possible.

I hope Framework will clearly indicate to the user that the CPU adjustment is not possible after ordering.

I would like to make it clear that this is absolutely understandable and that I still fully support the company and I would also like to give them credit for the ability to adjust your order at all. (I changed my keyboard, expansion cards and charger)
