It’s hubris to make that assumption.

We all take things at face value.

We don’t read every article.

We don’t always ask ourselves why a figure is saying something.

We may not be as bad as conservatives, but it’s folly to presume we’re immune. If anything, we need to be all the more diligent.

But even with those historic gains, they don't bring workers back to where they were before 2007, when wages and benefits were slashed amid tough economic times.

Headline makes the strikers sound greedy, but this context puts things into perspective.

This.

It is easy, and justified to blame Trump for being anti-vax to have gotten as mainstream as it has…

… but that was only able to gain traction in the first place because people are being offered the choice between healing and going broke.

At some level, conscious or not, this is the masses rebelling against a system that has actively harmed them.

Unfortunately, the outlet for this rebellion actively harms them and is decidedly not in their best interests. It’s going to take at least a generation to rebuild that trust, and our medical system is going to fight tooth and nail to keep that trust ruined in the name of maximum profits,

With my (admittedly limited) understanding of the topic, extracting the water from ocean water is a relatively simple process.

The problem is what do you do with the brine afterwards. The process featured in the article makes it harder for the brine to clog the system, which is admittedly an important step. But you can’t put the brine back into the ocean without risking killing local wildlife.

And I’m not under the impression that there are any practical uses for brine, at least not at that scale.

12 hour shifts certainly isn’t helping any either.

Hmm… Lower Decks tends to deal as reverently to Trek stars as it does one time TNG minor characters.

For a minor character cameo… I think I’d like to see one of the TNG S1 chief engineers. I bet they have a story to tell about working on the Enterprise then.

For a major character cameo… how about Chakotay? I’d like to see the Protostar prior to its launch and tie forward instead of backwards.

Uncertain.

One of Biden’s campaign promises was student loan forgiveness, and while we can thank Republicans for gutting it in its tracks, pursuit of it didn’t really happen until it was advantageous with election season.

Likewise, Biden was initially against the rail strike, but seeing as unions have become a voter issue, it’s important to clean that image.

I’m glad Biden is supporting the Auto workers strike. But I want to see that support continue after it’s politically advantageous before I conclude he’s had a change of heart.

At almost a year later.

While I appreciate the change in tune, I’m certainly not taking this at face value after the rail strike.

Glad to see this show sprouting on another platform. Easily the most underrated Trek of the new era.

The article keeps mentioning a “glimmer of hope” but that glimmer is just surviving or getting married on schedule.

I don’t know what they’re smoking.

I suspect there are two key deterrents to using dating apps:

1: Folks that are dating material ultimately leave the pool… leaving those that… aren’t. The longer the cycle continues the more undatable fill the population of date app users. So, by no fault of the dating app itself, the vast majority of potential dates suck.

2: Then we get into the conflict of interest. Dating apps don’t want you to find your true love. They want engagement and subscription fees. It’s in their best interest to give you a substandard experience.
