I’m in this same sort of boat. It’s not that I really want to play but I have a friend who wants me to play and I’m happy to go along with it. So like you, I can’t justify the prices for something that I might (and probably) won’t even like.

What I’ve found is what are called “proxys”. Basically you can just print the cards you want for free off the internet. I’m sure there are groups out there that aren’t approving of playing with proxies but if your group falls more on the side of playing and having fun rather than collecting and you’re not trying to pass off proxies as real cards then you should be fine.

It seems to me like a great way to get started and see if it’s something you like without much investment at all

So yes there is unfortunately a small number of people in the corporate world who need that specific training but what it mostly is is plausible deniability for the company. In case you do get your password stolen or some such the company can then turn around and say that you had the mandated security training which makes it easier to let you go. It’s all so they can cover their asses

Dude nice! As the dad of a 4 month old this is the kind of stuff I’m looking forward to. Not only as a project for me but also to try to teach some computer skills to the little one because I’m not going to be in my 80s and having her come to me needing her stuff fixed.

What is your controller solution? I can see kiddos getting frustrated at the controller not having buttons that are represented on the screen
