They don't need military capability, just influence and control over regional freight and shipping, which they have in spades.

The thing to remember is that internet and cellular service wasn't available everywhere. I had to talk 10 minutes to a hill to get service to be able to make a cellular phone call. Most internet options required landline phones and wifi was barely off the ground for most consumers.
Media was something we extracted from the internet. Now the internet is something we have to extract ourselves from.

Turns out China is a massive market and economy.
I was happy to ignore it until the threads about it came up and the people/person running the bot demonstrated they weren't really going to listen to negative feedback. MBFC isn't accurate on political bias, but it is accurate on reporting whether a source is well known/reliable. The bot maker doesn't seem to care much about that. That's probably why people prefer to downvote it so much now.
And, uh, I wouldn't read any of my text here in 'upset'. That's just being silly.
