Ok but here’s a fundamental question:
Is this a change in referring or a change in playing style / ability? Is there a way to determine, empirically, if players are actually committing penalties and an increased rate - as opposed to simply being called for more penalties?
Also, are there teams that are just actually more disciplined and commit fewer penalties?
And one final question, only semi-related:
WHY DO DBs WEAR BRIGHT-COLORED GLOVES???????? If you wanna get away with holding, don’t wear bright yellow gloves!!
Richie Incognito should absolutely get in - if the only thing that matters is performance. Guy was an absolute terror on the football field. Apparently a terror off of it too
My take is that it’s Jahmyr. By my eyes, he was actually the best RB in college last year but Bijan had the historic body of work “carrying” him a little bit. (I say carrying, but he was still phenomenal).
Bijan has the more well-rounded skill set, but Gibbs has the top end speed that is unmatched. I think that will set him apart in the long run. Gibbs in space is horrifying.
