I'd be very suspicious. Like some companies pay people to drop likes, comments, reviews and backlinks using spreadsheets full of fake accounts. They run this kinda scam in the name of "digital marketing".

If there were a way to see that's not the deal here, then yes.

You don't need to spend anywhere close to that.

I use Google Cloud Platform (appengine) and Digital Ocean for the database. Together they come to like $20 a month (17 of that goes to digital ocean). And hooked up a domain I purchased on Bluehost. You can probably find managed database even cheaper than that, and cut it down to 10 a month or so (everything combined).

You shouldn't be spending a lost on infra till you have traffic to justify it. Nor need to spend a lot.

GCP is similar to AWS or Heroku. These platforms are comparable and enough to get you started and till you have decent traffic. After that you can always migrate to some enterprise type of package for handling large number of hits.

Somewhere MVPs became: a static landing page with a newsletter signup form and a "coming soon" lie.

I hope this kind of MVP dies.

But i don't believe an actual MVP should look like it was built by a high-schooler. It's about delivering just enough functionally to add value. You can write decent CSS for it in a day or two, especially with tools like Tailwind and Bootstrap (or even rolling your own, really).

You may do better just paying a professional $100. On a site like Upwork or Fiverr. Ask them to produce the asset. Posting it and promoting it is your job, not the artist's job.
