If Klay can't handle a reduced role, then trade him. His irrational ego is ruining any chance. It's not fair to the rest of the team to put a worse product on the floor. Klay may even improve with less minutes, since he will be fresh for those minutes. It's a regular season game, just tell him you are saving him for the playoffs

Not sure if this will help, but it might:

  • split team into 2 groups

  • one group is the "house" the other are the gamblers

  • use monopoly money

  • let them observe how the house always wins because the "games" are designed that way

  • ask them if they often follow along like good little sheep - because that is what they are doing by playing a game that they know is designed with the purpose for the house to win and the player to lose

  • Be sure to emphasize that they are not sheep, but they are, in fact, choosing to act like sheep. Why would they choose to act like sheep!? Let the sheep ride the bench while the wolves play.

  • check with school, etc first cause there is probably some legal form that will have to filled before this exercise can occur and learning can occur

  • deal with the inevitable gambling addict parent that goes full karen and whines at the school
