Honestly, it's really not that big of an issue. There are like a small handful of instances in pop culture where it was literally "put a chick in it and make her gay" type of diversity implementations. But like the vast majority of it has been the ideal Stan/Kyle perspective of giving them a cool background and making it their own character.
