I am working on an art project and have taken photos of my subject matter that I would like to blow up fairly large to have on the walls behind the pieces themselves. Shot raw edited in Lightroom, exported as TIF the file comes out to 127mb When I went to order the print the provider said my image has a dpi less than 150, and that the quality would come out poorly. So I went back into Lightroom and changed the export settings to 300 dpi. This changed the file size to 17mb.

In my head the larger file would make a better looking print because there is more data available right? I’m not sure what settings I should select before printing.

Using Lightroom cc for clarification.
