cow is made of meat.

cow eats grass.

cow has a shit.

said shit is collected to form manure.

this manure is an animal byproduct which the animal did not consent to you taking.

Same as bees and honey.

Im not vegan but thats what a vegan explained to me

What do you mean “make a bios”? A BIOS initialises hardware - whether its x86 x64 or ARM is irrelevant. The machine would need a bios to boot

carefully guarded trade secrets

AKA stolen content

Thanks! Thats more accurate

what are you compiling?

clock speed of 4GHz, which is far below AMD and Intel's 5GHz.

phrasing is odd. 25% lower clock speed isnt “far below”

but also fuck nvidia

who the fuck takes a job 3 hours away

And I assume all of those devices have a UPS

checksum > write > checksum

the failure im referring to is power/other interruptions during the write process. doing a pre and post checksum is worthless if the flash fails half way through.

if its a device that you expect to flash regularly, theres usually a recovery process or failover device, right? no way youre flashing prod devices without a dr or failure recovery.

for a random users keyboard? simple - dont flash it if its not broken.

Or maybe its because flashing firmware is inherently risky. Any power loss mid flash would brick the device.

In the unauthorised version shown on Tencent Video, Durden is still shot and killed, but the final scene of the buildings exploding is replaced with a black screen and words that say the police discovered the plan, stopped it, and sent the Narrator to an asylum.

I am traveling from the UK to USA for a few months, my first stop being New York City for a few weeks over Christmas and New Years.

Generally speaking, what is the weather like? What would be appropriate clothing? I think it snows often, so I was assuming some waterproof shoes / boots would be sensible at least.

Seemingly the functionality for setting languages is never used, and a large portion of my new feed is from instances that are language specific (and not the language I speak).

I have set my language to English + Undefined, but it seems no one else can/will set their languages for their posts (leaving them as undefined).

I would like to bulk add these to my blocked instance. I know how to do this.

My question is just - is there a list of instance + language covering the main federated instances?

Gift articles previously were accessible just with the link. The latest article I attempted to read now requires me to first sign up

The article in question https://wapo.st/4fp62oH

I am well aware of many work arounds. The point of this post was to show wapo has changed the way gift articles work, which previously didn’t require a workaround

It seems all the mods for technology@lemmy.world are inactive, and are not making any effort to combat spam.

How to go about requesting to mod the community myself?

Solely because I can’t read anything but English, I keep blocking foreign language communities as its just noise for me. But I have selected Undefined/English as my languages in settings.

It seems the language choice is never used by communities and posts? All of the .de instance posts seem to be “undefined” language. If they selected a specific language which matches their post language, it wouldn’t show up on my feed, right?

And currently there isn’t a way to block whole instances as a user, as far as I understand.

Will I have to just continuously hide foreign language communities as a user?

I’m not suggesting defederating or anything like that, just making my own feed less “noisy”
