When you go to PM, it clearly shows a message reading "Warning: Private messages in Lemmy are not secure. Please create an account on Element.io for secure messaging."

It's a public message board, don't put anything you don't want public on it.

I used Manjaro for a while. Twice I had updates break stuff so thoroughly that I had to reinstall the OS entirely. The second time, I installed Pop OS instead and it's been smooth sailing since.

Doesn't your browser warn you about closing a tab with an active text input field in it? I get an "information you've entered may not be saved" popup.

 

I'm trying to upload an image to make a post on !196@lemmy.blahaj.zone but it spins then fails with "SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data"

I've tried png and jpg.

 

As a video game it's a bit crap, but as a Star Trek VN it's pretty good.
