I would say that "on prem" defines a location, "selfhosting" an action. You can do both at the same time, e.g. selfhosting nextcloud onprem.

However, I'm not a db admin and my perspective might be biased (infosec).

I would say that this is a sign of a bad product. Apparently, compatibility between SQL server versions is not great.

Whoever uses studded tyres probably has a good reason for it. And they are very rare, even here in the alps with long and snowy winters.

Probably overkill, but for projects like this I've setup WordPress in the past. Once everything was done, I converted the WordPress page to a static site with httrack and use the static version.

This gives the ease of setting up and editing combined with the stability and security of a static HTML website.

While you can probably use them for some small tasks (like a switch, a file server with a USB thumb drive or a print server), you're probably better off if you can sell them and buy a raspberry pi or similar.

The Fritzbox 7530 for example could be sold for 50€ (at least in my country).

Hello,

I purchased two Stadia controllers to connect with my Stream Deck via Bluetooth. While one functions as expected, the other presents an issue.

Here's the sequence of events:

  • Initially paired the controller with the Stream Deck, and it worked.
  • Turned off the Stream Deck and turned it back on.
  • Unable to connect the controller to the Stream Deck, both automatically and manually.
  • Only after removing the second controller from the Bluetooth devices, I can pair it again (and it works until I suspend the Deck again).

Does anyone have any insights into what might have gone wrong? The other controller is functioning correctly, leading me to suspect an issue with the second controller.

The essence of this unconventional amalgamation lies in its absurdity. We chose the Solidigm P5336 enterprise SSD, offering a staggering 61.44TB capacity. While the capacity is amazing, it leverages an enterprise U.2 form factor, which is problematic given the Steam Deck’s M.2 slot. As such, an M.2 to external U.2 adapter from NFHK was employed as the bridge, paired with an Icy Dock enclosure to hold the drive.

Unnecessary modifications of the steam deck that make stationary? I could not resist posting this here ;) My question to all the steam deck fans out there: Would you be able to fill this 60 TB beast with games?

Is anyone here selfhosting the psono password manager? (psono.com)
 

Does anyone use the self hosted version of psono password manager? The demo looks very nice, however it seems to be very niche and it is rarely recommended. It appears in the "awesome selfhosted" repo, though.

I'm looking for a password manager for a small business, and bitwarden looks quite complex (and expensive) and I'm not very comfortable with vaultwarden.

The YouTube channel "Maximum Fury" conducted a technical test of the new Cyberpunk add-on called "Phantom Liberty" on an older AMD hardware system, testing it separately on Linux and Windows 11. The Linux system, specifically the Fedora distribution called Nobara, performed significantly better, delivering 31% more frames compared to Windows 11.

The hardware used for testing included an Asrock B550 motherboard with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU from the first RDNA generation, along with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM. The CPU, RAM, and GPU were overclocked, and the system utilized undervolting to save energy costs.

When testing the game at 1080p resolution with high textures, the Linux system achieved an average of 63.72 frames per second (fps), while Windows 11 managed only 48.55 fps. This suggests that the game should run noticeably smoother on the Linux system.
