I can at least hope Tawny Newsome's comedy will go well.

It depends. Prodigy, Lower Decks, and Strange New Worlds are all great (the former two take a moment to get into their element, though).

Probably watch 10 episodes of Prodigy before making your verdict, and probably through the first few episodes of season 2 for Lower Decks.

For Discovery, I've found it make many mistakes, but also been, it's been fun at times. I've only watched through part of season 4.

Spock has occasionally made jokes, and at least in the presence of a certain Richard Milhous Nixon, is a smoker.

My high school history teacher had that as a poster on her wall.

Honestly, I’m tempted to move This Might Be Lemmy from lemmy.sorld, considering federation issues, if it would be allowed.

The Argo is probably one of the few things I enjoyed about Nemesis. I like how they brought back the dune buggy for Prodigy..

I've had a very good experience with a similarly-speced AMD E16 gen 1.

The only issue I'd warn you about is the Wi-Fi modem might be a Realtek on some models. Mine came with one, and while on recent kernels, it mostly worked well out of the box, it had one issue: something went weird with ACPI when I switched between certain networks, which caused the card to crash and completely disconnect to the system unless I rebooted. I was able to find a fix by changing some options with modprobe.d, which I detail here: https://startrek.website/post/14342770 . Since that, it's been an extremely smooth experience.

Same. I love my E16 Gen 1.

He promoted Harry Kim to Lieutenant Commander after he transferred from Voyager A. (According to an okudagram, he hit full Lt in PRO)

I mean, he did pretend to be a stereotype of his species as a favor to a friend, so….

Well, I got hit by a mink starship, captained by a silver guitar.

I’d be fired if that were my job…

Actually, Mirror Chakotay was depicted in Prodigy (along with mirror Janeway). He likes to torture people like any good Terrain boi.
