The app in the first link is pretty old, just so anyone knows. If there have been vulnerabilities in the last 6 years this may not have addressed them.

If you already have a key attach it to a Microsoft account, then when you log in after upgrading and reinstalling it'll activate. No piracy needed.
When I had no (useful) Internet where I was living a few years ago I would save a list of packages to download from Synaptic to a drive and then when I was somewhere I could I would download them, then when I got home I could plug in the drive and update/install them.
More time than trying to shoehorn a defunct package for an abandoned codec in to a random player which even if it works would only be a temporary kludge not a fix?

Microsoft has put their entire sack in OpenAI's purse. They could literally do or say anything to Microsoft.
Are you telling me you really think it's outlandish to think the same people who push a glorified nested 'if' statement as AI would do what it said to do? Those people are goofy, if they thought they were being given a convoluted real life quest by a digital DM they'd be all about it.
What's that got to do with anything? They sell a thing, they want the thing to sell more.
How will it detect taking a picture with another phone? If they're both steady, aligned reasonably well, and the resolution is good enough it's the same thing. And who doesn't have an extra phone laying around?
