BRILLIANT!

The situations are always the same so this should work fine. Thank you

south korea has a history of brutal crackdowns; this takes balls to do and so publicly.

just like religion; you gotta indoctrinate them while they're young & impressionable so that they will more easily accept your biases as reality; otherwise they'll be corrupted by information from unapproved sources like tiktok

colorado felt like another silicon-valley-ish niche to me so this makes sense, but i'm surprised to hear about the work perspective because the people i worked with in colorado tended to have more socially conservative views than my californian colleagues complete w an early-to-bed-early-to-rise work ethic.

the denver-boulder area, in person, is hard to distinguish from places like austin if not for the climate and geography; the general attitudes of strangers towards me made that place no different than anywhere in texas for me.

i prompted it the other day to find out what paperwork i need for same day registration for the election; i think it's use for general information is better than for programming.

I became aware of that when the startrek instance shadow banned me for trying to convince them against defederating w hexbear.

I'm so glad that reddit's enshitification led me to Lemmy; seeing things that describe our situation but written generations ago makes it clear that we're all running this rat race and that we'll keep doing it until a Star Trek like sea change of cultural attitudes changes things and like Star Trek; it's the trekkies who are trekkies' worst enemy and preventing that sea change.

i'm not an anarchist, but i am a leftist and lemmy has taught me that the ideological overlap isn't sufficient to engage like that; my intention was to lurk only and see content like this since i hadn't yet seen it on mastadon.

timeline style social media doesn't work for me; but they usually have social circles that you can see in something like a friends list. i'll start there with yours and thanks.

where in mastadon can you find things like this?

i never thought to use ai for instruction on system configuration like is and this is brilliant.

i've used it before to give me ideas that serve as a starting place when i work on anything and now i'm going to start doing this when i want to improve my setup; thanks for making me aware of this option.

sounds a lot like the same thing they said in 2016 and now that we know that they're doubling down on their stubbornness here and in other examples; we should expect a repeat of 2016 & 2024 in 2028.

are security updates done in the same way that fdroid gets installed?

i'm a neophyte to things like fdroid and plan on using it on one of my devices, but hasn't yet done his homework on it.
