My heart says anarchy and my brain says communism. I can't live without either, so you can't make me choose. I'll maintain a materialist outlook and continue to act accordingly.

Wear the other clothes on top of the black ones.
They cannot and they will not. Please do not fall for them yanking the football away from you again. AOC and Bernie exist to give you hope and thereby capture your vote for a party that has no intention of ever fighting for the working class in a meaningful way. We need a real alternative but we've given away so much of our collective power (unions) that it's hard to see a hopeful path forward. Organize with your neighbors and start building trusted communities that will fight together when needed.
I take ads as a personal attack on my psyche. I turn my toothpaste around so I'm not looking at the logo. I pirate any shows I want to watch, and I use uBlock Origin in my browser.
I don't really disagree, but as time goes by, those old ones show their age more and more. I'm using the same one as you for work, and I got a T580 off eBay for personal (replaces my T430s). I don't know what I'd get if not for used Thinkpads though. One day maybe I can afford/justify one of those boutique Linux laptops.
Edit: I briefly had a T480 and it had problems with the display... apparently widespread.
Newest you can afford. T and P models, or X if you can.
You write well, and you got B's and C's in school. This tells me that you're smarter than you think, but abuse and/or lack of proper support has had an effect on your development and self esteem (which isn't surprising). You are still at a very young age, when a lot of people are still trying to find their way. I'm not saying any of this to minimize your struggles, but to give you at least a bit of perspective. A lot can change in a year or two when you're only 23!
For specific advice on resources available to you, it would help people to know at least which country you are in.

Most people aren't going to bring the butter back in.
Gotcha, and no problem. I've been voting for 3rd parties every election since I turned 18 in 1996, and only once has I voted for a dem (to my regret). I am more or less of the opinion that voting ain't worth much (especially in most states), but that it doesn't hurt anything either. Anyone who thought they were voting "to save democracy" in an election where fucking genocide wasn't up for debate needs to reassess their relationship to reality.
As the other comment says, it hardly matters. Fwiw I think they are well-intentioned but if their strategy is working for anyone, it's working for the corporatist dem party.
