You know you’ve gotten older when a player you distinctively remember getting drafted is now “unretiring”

Magic Johnson nicknamed me Laimbeer when I was 10.

When I was 10, I went to Magic Johnson’s basketball camp. Magic watched me play for a little bit and nicknamed me Laimbeer for how I would get after rebounds and how I was taller and bigger than most of the other kids. He was amazingly kind and a great teacher. He’d randomly play full court basketball against 20 laughing kids. It was a lot of fun.

Fast forward a couple days of camp later, I was walking off the court and I hear someone scream “LAIMBEER!!” from the other side of the blacktop. I turn around and it’s Magic Johnson remembering me from before and to just talk about how camp is going.

I felt like the coolest kid alive. Amazing guy.

Yes and something that makes it worse is that a lot of these things you can shrug and say “well hindsight is always 20/20! Anyone would have done the same!”

But with this, almost everyone thought this was awful from the get go (except the Falcons). The hindsight was already there. And they still went ahead with it.

Who’s the cheapest and has had the quickest rise to head coach and making them a head coach this quickly will probably not work out?

That’s who the chargers want if they fire Staley.
