I've got a background in both light tech, as in stage/club lighting, and smart home stuff. So for me it was a bit of a given that I'd end up doing something like this. Although I have to say that the controller for my Lian-Li fans didn't disappoint. And what I've seen from corsair isn't bad either. It's just that that way you're more locked in to a specific brand, or end up with multiple rgb software suites (or openrgb for all but one component).

Have been thinking of making a video about how to set something like this up. It's not hard to do. It can be done without soldering, premade components exist, but might be a bit to niche for most to come across. (WLED is used a lot for holiday lighting, those roofline lighting and such)

Yeah. Just connect the 5v to both the mcu and the fans. I can show a sample setup when I'm home in about 30-45 minutes
