With your budget, I'd go with quality more than "brand" recognition and Islander Watches punches way above their weight.

I'd suggest:

  • Islander Manhasset 36mm Automatic - $285, 36mm, automatic NH36 movement, sapphire crystal w/ AR coating, sapphire display case back, milled clasp, timeless design and should fit any situation. Can't think of another watch that ticks all the boxes or is better for this price.

La Joux-Perret for higher end stuff (also owned by Citizen)

[Recommendation request] I feel very out of place on this sub with all the really cool watches. But I really need some suggestions on a watch to gift my Fiancé. Budget about 200-300$ or lesser. in c/watches@style.land

If you want a grab and go field watch for around $60, I can't recommend the Bertucci A1R enough.

Not specifically what you're asking for but how about Kuoe? It's a Kyoto based microbrand plus it gives off that vintage GS/KS vibes.
