  • At some point, a limiting factor just becomes art direction and budget. You can have all the fancy techniques you want, but you still need to make detailed textures, animations, etc.

Very possibly generative AI will alleviate this, although it has yet to produce convincing 3d models or animations.

Even going as far as calling her husband an asshole (might be true, I'm not married to the dude).

You misunderstood the text, the sentence is :

If only I got a penny for every time someone said: you don’t look like a computer scientist, I could be Mackenzie Scott without having to marry an asshole.

She's calling Jeff Bezos an asshole, not her own husband.

Bash has an option for that you can put in your .bashrc:

Other interesting options exist

You think people shouldn't be allowed to.. file lawsuits? This is all that has happened so far, there is no court decision yet.

Why not just VFX the abs onto the actors? If any TikTok user has access to convincing beauty filters then surely Hollywood as well.

"4 chords" is a cool mashup but it's not really a valid point in this conversation.

The songs in "4 chords" don't use the same 4 chords, because they are higher and lower than that. So you might say they use the same progression, but that's not true either, because they're not always constantly in the same order. So the best you can say is "it's possible to interpret pitch- and tempo-adjusted excerpts of these songs back-to-back", which isn't a very strong claim.

In fact there's a lot of things separating the songs in "4 chords"; such as structure, arrangement, rhythm, lyrics, or production. Another fact is that it's perfectly possible to use these four chords in a way that you've never heard before and would likely find bizarre -- it's a bit of meme, but limitation really can breed creativity.

This isn't to defend the lack of creativity in the big music industry. But there's more to it than just saying "4 chords" to imply all musicians do is follow an established grid.

This isn't completely fair, Bethesda addressed the issue in universe and there are multiple authors arguing about this and why that is. It plays very well with the rest of the lore which is all about conflicting accounts and variety of interpretation.

If I recall correctly the three in-universe theories are (1) it's an error and there never was a jungle (2) there was a jungle but Talos CHIMed it away (3) there was a jungle when the high elves (Ayleids) lived there, but when the humans took over the white-gold tower changed the landscape to suit them.

Unfortunately, /r/teslore has no fediverse equivalent that I know of so I wouldn't know where to have this kind of discussion.

People who are pro choice might still choose to have children.

People don't necessarily inherit the political opinions of their parents, and can change their outlook over time.

People can spread their ideas through other methods than reproduction, such as debate, educating other people's children, or sharing their opinion on Lemmy.

Your comparison is biased because the economy of Russia is quite insular — you're basically saying that if they were to export all they produce and buy all they need from the US, they would reach the wealth of 1/4 Mississippi. But the Russians make a lot of stuff themselves, they just have trouble buying from abroad.

What you want is to compare GDP adjusted for purchasing power parity. Then Russia's economy becomes comparable with California's or Germany's.

However this must be taken with a grain of salt, because GDP-PPP is hard to measure in the first place (because purchasing power is hard to measure), and Russia is undergoing sanctions and running a war economy, and the Russian government is probably fudging the numbers anyway.
