Ah, I forget sometimes that common sense and reasoning isn't worth shit in a country where people are second-class citizens behind business entities. I can't even imagine what decent labor and consumer protections look like, let alone fair and responsible IP governance.

Not a lawyer, but I think it should be pretty straightforward to prove that Stratasys is selectively /inequitably enforcing the patent given the prevalence of PEI build plates and automatic leveling, among other things, long before Bambu released a machine or became popular.

As others have said, I use it mainly for the search function to start programs as well as many shortcuts. I've seen others mention screenshots and locking, but here are a few more:

  • Win+. - Opens the special symbols/emoji windows
  • Win+ left or right arrow - Snaps a window to the left or right half of the screen, respectively. Up arrow maximizes, down minimizes.
  • Win+r - Opens the run dialog
  • Win+v - Opens clipboard history (history is off by default, it will ask you to enable it the first time you use the shortcut)
  • Win+x - Opens the 'quick link' menu (Power Options, Event Viewer, System, Device Manager, Network Connections, Disk Management, Computer Management, and Command Prompts
  • As a bonus, my favorite windows shortcut is Ctrl+Win+Alt+Shift+L, which opens linkedin in in a new browser tab.

For me, it was about being able to watch yt on my tv and mobile devices which are not able to block ads as easily as a desktop browser. I have a pihole on my home network, but it hasn't been able to block yt ads for a few years.

There's a few 3rd party solutions that are compatible with Google's find my device coming out this year. Pebblebee just released a few trackers, and iirc chipolo is working on one too.

That is what the Ad Nauseum extension does: "AdNauseam works to complete the cycle by automating ad clicks universally and blindly on behalf of its users. Built atop uBlock Origin, AdNauseam quietly clicks on every blocked ad, registering a visit on ad networks' databases. As the collected data gathered shows an omnivorous click-stream, user tracking, targeting and surveillance become futile."

Ditto. I left during the api stuff, but left my account in case they calmed down and realized it was stupid. The whole 'selling data for ai training' and actually filing for an ipo is what actually drove me to delete my 15 year old account today

Some websites intentionally change behavior based on your user agent. There are plenty of extensions for Firefox that let you change it so sites think you're using chrome instead. It's wild to me that's even a thing, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tron does a decent job of scrubbing it
