Ghost of Tsushima. Speed-climbing up a cliff. At the top of a cliff, I get charged by a wild boar and it knocks me all the way to the bottom of cliff for a falling death.

No. In fiction, it is the flaws of the character that make them more compelling, realistic, and (sometimes) relatable. Perfect heroes in fiction often fall flat with audiences because there is no opportunity for the character to grow or overcome something, no meaningful character arc.

In real life, there aren't perfect people, and when someone performs a selfless, brave or compassionate act, they sometimes receive the title of hero, but they are still the person they were before, with their faults, flaws, sins, relationships, roles and every other facet that makes up a whole person.

You know who could really take advantage of this situation? JCB. It's a credit card processor in Japan similar to Mastercard and Visa. If they went to the game platforms and offered censorship free and opened up their card use in other countries, things could get interesting.

A couple of ways of interpretating this maybe:

  • curiosity of the sensation
  • absolute pathos of just trying to feel something

I joined Reddit thanks to 3rd party apps, and when they turned their back on them I was out too.

I used one of those automated programs that used the old.reddit API to overwrite all my comments. I took a break for lunch, thinking to delete my account afterwards, but when I came back my account had been permanently banned.

So it was definitely like one of those "You can't quit, you're fired" type of situations.

From time to time I visit the site because of search results, but from what I can tell, all the main subreddits are filled with bots reposting the same content from 5 years ago.

So, I guess the correct response is to do what Kuzco did in the movie, and drink each one in sequence until you drink the right one (while running in terror)?

I wonder what the ratio is for Prime Directive Violations vs. Janeway Drinks Coffee in an episode.

Would more coffee consumed in an episode correlate to less Prime Directive violations... or more? 🤔
