I understand what your saying. My rebuttal is offensive pass interference could have realistically prevented a change of possession with the opportunity to advance the turnover from the spot of the foul.

Pass interference as a spot foul + automatic first down but only for the defense is stupid. If it’s a 30 yard offensive pass interference the offense should move back 30 yards. Or the play should be capped at 10 yard penalty. If the offense happens before the first down marker it’s not a first down.
I would be curious to see what the average yac vs the avg interception yac.
