Until there’s hanging effigies, nationwide band on alcohol in football stadiums, people burning season tickets for signing a former player of your rival (mostly because he was catholic) and literal divides in families over supporting one or the other I refuse to acknowledge any rivalry in the UK bigger than the old firm/glarby.
How can it be the biggest rivalry in the world when it isn’t the biggest rivalry in Britain?
Kyle Lafferty, Graham Dorans and Jason Naismith play for Johnstone Burgh in the 7th tier of Scottish football. Lafferty is on £1,500 a week with about a £20k sign on fee. You’d need to go to the Scottish championship/SPFL1 for even a resemblance of those wages. Doran’s and Naismith supposedly on a grand a week. Their entire teams wages the season before they joined was about £19k per year.
I imagine Macclesfield have a sugar daddy just like Burgh do.

Gerrard had the massive fortune of Celtic absolutely collapsing after Rodger’s left mid season and gave the job to Neil Lennon. Won less trophies that season than St Johnstone did. His success in Scotland is massively overstated, almost everyone here thinks of his time here as a failure with a bright spot. While being near penniless, he managed to bring on a shit load of debt while raising the playing wage budget greater than celtics. Rangers are suffering for it now.
Guirassy is easily ahead of him
Probably not all that much, but this form is expected from Bellingham. He’s been that good for 2 whole seasons. Some guy you hadn’t heard of has 13 in 7 for Frankfurt. Best English striker for the last 2 decades and the premier leagues best for the last 5+ years joins Bayern and this guys outpacing him.

He played the first 2 games of the season and has been ruled out indefinitely with injury which required surgery. About 2 weeks work for £100k+ and a club physio to look after you is alright. No matter how “easy” your job might be, you definitely worked harder for that money lol
