Why hasn't someone made an open-source implementation of the Android Auto client?

We already have open-source implementations of the AA head unit, and we have the AAwireless project.

I'd be kinda cool to run Android Auto on a Linux phone.

IRC wasn't federated though, but you could indeed connect to multiple servers with the same client.

Does OSM support turn by turn navigation with live traffic / public transit updates?

What do you recommend instead for transit?

Google Maps lets me know when to get off my stop, and where to head next, in real time, as well as updates on whether metros or trains are late and when the next one is coming.

It's adjusted per capita. You can't ask for better.

Isolation from the rest of society leads people to echo chambers because of a lack of diversity in ideas.

Think of it as opinion inbreeding.

You're not the average user.

Also upvote / downvote is not supposed to be about your opinion, it was supposed to be "contributes / does not contribute to the conversation". But most people tend to use it to voice their opinion.

I'll give you an upvote because you're contributing to the conversation, and your perspective is important.
