I shoot really wide and round heads sacrifice some coverage I'd need

A lot of people want video work since it'll be for TikToks/Reels. They want visibility and not necessarily artistry. A good in-between would just be having your artist photoshoot + recording BTS on an iPhone or anything simple. That way they have their content + a tease to them "launching" the new photo session/promo visuals.

It helps to have them mirror what you want. Just be normal. Show them a pose, have them mirror you, tell them to adjust whatever needs adjusting (tilt your chin, turn your waist towards this way, elbows out, etc. etc.).

It'll also help if you have a mood board with certain poses to either show your models or for yourself to do for them to replicate.

I personally do get nervous during certain shoots and end up being a little out of breath. Usually suggestive type photos because the entire time I'm concerned on making sure my models are comfortable and I'm not pushing boundaries. If the photos are coming out really great then yeah I'll be a little excited but that's entirely separate from the anxiety.
