Where was that "historically accurate" crowd when Keanu starred in 47 Ronin?!

While neither EA nor Steam ever said anything about support for Linux or the Steam Deck (the store page stated unsupported), it's still a dick move inserting kernel level ~~antichrist~~ anticheat MONTHS after release, altering the deal and making the product a security and privacy nightmare!

Also a really bad business decision to scare future buyers away, with Linux gaming gaining traction thanks to Steam Deck and the likes.

I personally won't buy anything from EA going forward and stick to my statement from the games Steam forum:

Another reason toย just waitย before buying a game, especially from large corpo publishers like EA!
Releasing unfinished, buggy games for prices north of 60 bucks AND "altering the deal" MONTHS later, rendering the product either unplayable or making it a security and privacy nightmare, is a big, BIG pile of BS!

Don't let the FOMO get you, learn from this.
Make your voices heard and place an appropriate review!

And by all means:ย try to get a refund!

...or this WILL happen again!

With a factory reset the phones encryption keys will be destroyed and nothing should be retrievable from that device. Even if the data isn't overwritten, without the encryption key no one could read it.

At least that's my understanding of the modern safety- and encryption features of recent phone models/mobile OS's.

The worst part: Apple's iCloud is end-to-end encrypted and even Apple can't see the users files, at least that is what they say.

If what the dude on Reddit states is true, then this is bad, really really bad! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

What happened has set the grounds for not just one but two really cool twists later in the series. (And some interesting behind the scenes facts and rumours) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wouldn't encrypting the drivers and shutting it all down by a single button press work just like flushing the loo?! ๐Ÿค”

And it all will still be recoverable, but by you only.

Which are?

I really want to know! I am using both but wouldn't call me an expert. There is still much to learn.

Have you ever tried any modern Linux desktop distribution?

I had a bad experience with Ubuntu and the likes about 10-15 years ago (as a daily driver for my desktop, that is). But a lot has changed since then.

Maybe take a look at Pop_OS or Linux Mint. I'm using the latter, it took less than 10 minutes to install and works out of the box! Everything else comes via it's "app store".

There is no need for the console, so you don't need to type any commands!

Even my parents are using it. And gaming works great.

These companies have hired psychologists to tell them how to best extract money from your wallet by probing your brain in just the right way.

Those are the real criminals! With all the good they could have done in today's society, choosing to use their knowledge and training to manipulate people against their best interest is just the worst!

I like

sudo nala upgrade -y

Works well :-D

You don't need the bootlegged version of SteamOS, there is ChimeraOS (GitHub).

Also Steam runs great on a lot of distros, I use ~~Arch~~ Mint btw. ;-)

For Epic Games, GOG and Amazon you can use Heroic Games Launcher (GitHub).
