Is it really decentralized and private?

I came from JavaScript NodeJS and Python.

I’ve learnt Elixir and it seems like it’s packed with lots of features/patterns.

Having tasted the syntax from both, I’d say Elixir is awesome. But it’s true that Elixir is niche.

I'm looking to self-host a GitHub alt on a cheap Linux VPS for personal use. Any rec?

Say: let them use a web app?

I'd like to have my own server at home sorta like a home AWS.

How to set up one and make it available to anyone over the Internet? What tech specs should I buy (RAM, CPU, # of cores, operating system, etc.)?

How much does it cost to keep one running all the time?

Hmm, not sure. But I’m in my 20s and I love to advocate for privacy and decentralization.
