For street photography a good technique is zone focusing. For example F8 on a 35mm you can pre-set your focus to 8 ft which means that everything from about 5-1/2ft to 15ft away will be in focus. No waiting for your auto-focus to catch the subject, as long as they are withing the zone, it will be in focus.

Here is a site that explains this technique in better detail

That language means you can't make actual porn with it. I've worked on a show where we used stock images for fake girlie magazine covers. Have your legal department look over the TOS and sign off on you using them

Unless they were famous, you probably won't get much money from the photos/negatives. That being said I personally think that a great way to create some sort of legacy for them would be to release them under a Creative Commons license. This way people who find the work useful can utilize the images and your FIL's photography will live on that way

I have three bedroom doors that I would like to put smart locks on to replace the current smart locks which are functional but not great.

What I currently have are smart locks that I purchased from Amazon. They are a Chinese brand named ‎Cilee that use an app by Trua to function. The locks work okay but there are a few annoyances

What I'm looking for:

  • Discrete user access for each lock.
With the current locks I have, anyone who is registered as a member of the household can unlock any of the locks in the house. I need to be able to have each door only accessible by specific people. I've gotten around this by creating one household for each lock but this is a PITA because I have to switch households in order to admin the different locks.
  • Access via Fingerprint/Code/Key/App or Code/Card/Key/App
My current locks are Fingerprint/Code/Key/App. The Fingerprint reader isn't very smart, I've had to scan the same finger on the sensor in multiple positions and save them as different fingerprints in order for the lock to have a chance of reading my print. The keypad on the front isn't very responsive and messes up regularly and the key is a non-standard shape and I haven't been able to find any place that can copy them.

(Currently have a Yale Assure keypad deadbolt on the front door that I generally like.)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated
