Is there any open-source project that serves the same purpose of Duolingo that can be self-hosted? in c/selfhosted@lemmy.world

Not self hosted but look at your local library, I am in the US and my library has Mango Languages for free, and Duolingo does not seem to be the recommended way to really learn a new language.

I requested my library order it, hopefully they do. Checked my account and saw, "Your suggestion has been approved! The library will acquire the following Book: "Slow Down, The Degrowth Manifesto, by Kohei Saito". "

I love my public library.
