For me, it’s -

Season 1-5: Classic era

Season 6-15: Golden age

Season 16-22: noticeable decline

Season 23-present: back on the upswing

Newer seasons and the recent specials have been amazing, but for awhile there it was just okay

South Park is my favorite show. I’ve never been offended by it personally. But the ONLY episode where I thought they went a smidge too far was s8e2 “Up the Down Steroid”, when Cartman pretended to be mentally disabled to cheat his way into the Special Olympics. Not only is the premise pretty bad, but his constant “DERRRR DERRRR” during half the episode was kinda hard to watch. I still liked the episode overall, but I was surprised that one didn’t get more controversy.
