Some people use downvotes to signalize a different opinion, which is kind of toxic. We want different opinions here. What we don't want is hate, extremism, fake news, ... That's what deserves the downvotes.

In France, they are expensive to build and expensive to maintain... And you need to buy stuff from Russia to keep them running....

Why not (instead of gas and nuclear) building more renewables, which are cheeper? Wind and solar should be the priority, nuclear should be the alternative when wind and solar does not work.

Good question. AFAIK, it isn't in Germany, but many cimpanies don't care.

Yes. This has 2 sides: She made it possible, but she also blocked it for a decade.

In Germany, it was similar.

Many years ago, the center party (party name starting with C for christian) under Merkel (together with SPD) initiated a vote and allowed each conservative politician to decide how to vote.

A major German party (SPD) decided to quit using Twitter a few weeks ago.
