That’s a really cool and collectible piece. You should try to find a local watchmaker with experience with vintage watches to take a look at it. If the alarm is working the movement is probably still in pretty good shape.

I have bought multiple watches from Japanese sellers on Chrono24 and never had an issue. They’re often cheaper because the Yen is weak right now and Japan has a huge culture of resale so there is a lot of supply of used watches. However, on more expensive watches you may have to pay several hundred dollars in import taxes but it sounds like the watches you’re looking at are all under the price point where that is an issue.

Not bad watches although many models are busy and over designed but they are very overpriced new when compared to the competition. They also have struggled to adopt to changing trends namely smaller case sizes and vintage inspired pieces. So much of their output still screams mid aughts.

It was spun off by seiko in 2017. It has been effectively an independent company for some time now.
