I get what he's saying, but basketball is not about a strategy, it's mostly based on reaction and athleticism. Coach can draw a brilliant offensive scheme, but players would still take what's defense is giving them, i.e. mismatch/open lane/open man/iso. A head coach in NBA is arguably the less important position on a team.
