Federation still appears to be broken. I can post to a community here that is subscribed to a lemmy.world account and posts are still not appearing.

Out queue in activities shows nothing. I posted several things and upvoted, yet none of these are making it into the fediverse.

I am pulling content just fine from other sites. But outgoing federation is definitely not working right now.

It's a known false positive. I can't speculate as to why it still hasn't been fixed but your suspicion might be correct. Who knows.
