overview for pixelprimer

When Windows 10 dies, I am going to jump ship over to Linux. Which version would you recommend for someone with zero prior experience with Linux? **Edit: Linux Mint it shall be.** in c/linux@lemmy.ml

Is PopOs a good option if i don't want to tinker much with the OS and do some basic tasks as web browsing etc? in c/linux@lemmy.ml

I’m glad to hear it. Linux in general has gotten way better in that regard. I haven’t had to fix any driver issues in years just install and it works.

PopOS is definitely a great first choice distribution. I would recommend Linux Mint over it for people coming from windows who wants something rock solid with a great community

What feature/utility/app are you surprised is not installed by default in Linux distributions? in c/linux@lemmy.ml

Yep. I used a Chromebook pixel in college with Linux on it. Worked pretty well

Hahaha, I’m the opposite I’ve been so used to the thinkpad fn that I hate using other laptop keyboards.
