But you do have them attached to your Amazon account. So there’s likely no real usecase for you to want to push a mobi file to a kindle.

If you’re technically competent enough to have a mobi locally and send it to a kindle, then you’re technically competent enough to convert it, so it’s not a huge deal. I agree it’s weird though.

Honest question: what non-piracy reasons are there for having a mobi file locally and not already having it attached to your Amazon account ready to download straight to your kindle? Did anyone but Amazon ever even sell mobi files?

They’re not larping and they’re not losing. They’re running a successful protection racket, and probably more.

Wasn’t he the one who made a bunch of ridiculous demands? This car seems like it was designed by Homer Simpson.

I can’t believe they ever had value.

What would this law have done to change it? How would it be applied? I hope that doesn’t sound like a bad faith question because I’m actually curious.

I work in AAA games now. We don’t have a lot of Indians.

I wonder if it’s actually worse when names indicate how high someone was born or if it just makes identifying it easier. That said, that’s awful and either way I’d be happy if something was done about it.

Without specific protections the burden is on the victim to prove they were victimized at all.

I don’t understand. How would the new law have helped people who can’t prove they’re being discriminated against? How would that work?

I’m in the tech industry, but not in California and I have never seen cast discrimination. How does this happen in California and gore is it not illegal based on current laws as Newsom is saying?

“Sharks don’t actually try to kill humans, they just get curious and take exploratory bites”

Obviously that’s not a direct quote, but I people say things like it in defense of sharks frequently.

I assumed it was just because he’s smart and thinks well on his feet. Most rebels are probably angry and dumb teenagers and early 20s. And he owns a ship and already has helped rescue the princess. He’s basically already a war hero.

I like Lemmy for the communities it has. But the problem is that it doesn’t have the communities that I like most. I liked Reddit most for the hobby communities that aren’t all necessarily programming or gaming related. Lemmy is fantastic for memes and news and programming and gaming. But those are a small portion of what I used Reddit for. And they aren’t even my favorite part. Look at true guitar communities. Or astronomy, or any other hobby. It’s extremely inactive here.

So I found myself using Lemmy a lot. And then I realized that I was only using Lemmy for the things I don’t actually care about and the things I do care about aren’t here.
